"It's a hard grape to grow. As you know. Right? It's, uh, it's thin-skinned, temperamental, ripens early. It's, you know, it's not a survivor like cabernet, which can just grow anywhere and thrive even when it's neglected. No, pinot needs constant care and attention. You know? And, in fact, it can only grow in these really specific, little tucked-away corners of the world. And only the most patient and nurturing of growers can do it, really. Only somebody who really takes the time to understand pinot's potential can then coax it into its fullest expression."

A bright palate of red plums and currants affords a sweet, juicy entry that builds and flows with a subtle smokiness, seamlessly surrendering to a lingering finish.

A bit about Pali Winery:

In 2005, entrepreneurs Tim Perr and Scott Knight pooled their resources and their passions to found a winery dedicated to producing small lots of artisan Pinot Noir that they loved to drink.

They established a state-of-the-art winery and tasting room in the town of Lompoc, CA and named the winery “Pali,” after their hometown Pacific Palisades on the coast just west of Los Angeles. Today, Pali Wine Co. produces a Cuvee series of wines defined by their appellation of origin and named for different neighborhoods in the Pacific Palisades.  They also produce a very limited amount of vineyard-designate wines.

The goal at Pali is to make wines that speak well of their origin and their varietal, and to bring those wines to the consumer at the best price without compromising quality.  While Pinot Noir remains their first love and a significant part of the production at Pali.  They also produce a few other varietals when they have the opportunity to make a wine they think is worthy of sharing.

Pali’s appellation cuvée program wines offer the opportunity to affordably explore premium, appellation-specific Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and select other varietals. Each of these wines is named for neighborhoods in their hometown of Pacific Palisades, CA.

Pali’s vineyard-designate wines allow for the exploration of top vineyard sites on the West Coast.  These wines are strictly allocated and are from carefully-farmed, distinct and recognized vineyards and are handcrafted using small-lot, minimally-invasive winemaking at Pali’s winery in Lompoc, CA.

With the exception of the Proprietors’ Reserve wine and large format bottles, all Pali Wine Co. wines are enclosed with screwcaps.  They came to the wine business first as wine lovers and collectors, and they felt it important that their investment, and that of their customers, be both protected and accessible for maximum enjoyment.

They have an expert team in charge of ensuring excellence in every step of Pali’s growth and development. Tim Perr is their Managing Partner.  Scott Knight, who joined Perr to form Perr&Knight in 1994, heads up sales with National Sales Director Gary White. Stacey Rosser, Pali’s first employee and former bank lending officer and market researcher, is manager of direct sales, compliance and marketing.  It’s a small but dynamic team with a passion for start-ups.
