“I like wine that sounds good and I like rock ‘n’ roll.”
Michael Browne, Kosta-Browne
We also like Rock and Roll but prefer wines that taste good as opposed to the pretty labels. Usually we would tell you to stay away from most wine labels that feature animals like kangaroos, lizards, Squirrels, dogs or pretty birds but ducks can be a good sign. Duckhorn Winery has been around since 1976 and they are known for the Merlot, a grape that gets very little respect even though it is the 2nd most widely planted grape varietal on earth.
This Saturday October 21st we will offer three flights from this landmark winery along with a new menu as we continue to feature the White Truffle again this week along with our Charcuterie Selections and a new list of wines by the glass based on our events we are hosting this week.
The menu changes every week based on the events that we have going on and we build it every night adding the items from the last night making our Saturday night menu the most impressive as it contains everything from all the events this week.

Finish 40+ Excellent

Price: $35.25 Sale $31.02
Defined by the idea of movement, Migration is dedicated to exploring Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the finest cool-climate winegrowing regions to create wines that highlight lush fruit, bright acidity and impeccably balanced oak. To craft our flagship Chardonnay, this exploration took us to California’s Russian River Valley, where layers of ocean fog cool the vines that grow in the region’s famous Goldridge sandy loam soils. Reflecting this world-class terroir, this vibrant and sophisticated Chardonnay combines white flower aromatics with enticing lemon custard and stone fruit flavors.

2014 Canvasback Red Mt. Cabernet Sauvignon (6 ounce Pour $10.00)
Price: $45.00 Sale $39.60
Dick Boushey is the vineyard manager, Brian Rudin is the winemaker and this is the latest thing from the folks at Duckhorn. They planted 18 acres recently so the estate is not ready they are buying fruit from four vineyards right now until the young vines are ready. This vintage is a blend of Merlot and Malbec, this wine sees 16 months in 100% French oak, a mixture of new and older neutral oak. On the nose there is good hand of that dirt from this region with red and black currant, dark plum and black cherry fruit, herbs, asian spices, black licorice and more, very complex bouquet of aromas. Plump and juicy fruit here on the tongue this is a warmer year in Washington but has that hallmark freshness of wines from this area also with a good hand of spice and a lot of that red mountain earth through the finish, tobacco, licorice like notes through the finish, a ripe vintage that is still very young but has lovely balance. Finish 45+ Excellent +
