A bit about Adobe Road Winery:

Garnering wins from racing around a track at 180 miles per hour takes extreme focus, attention and a drive for perfection. To professional racecar driver and team owner, Kevin Buckler, so does winemaking in the Sonoma and Napa Valleys— when you want to focus on making the very best wines.

Kevin also has a driving passion for wine. He and his wife, Debra, opened the Adobe Road Winery in southern Sonoma County to create wines that capture the essence of the vineyard. “We work hard to make sure each bottle of Adobe Road wine is handcrafted to showcase the best of each individual vineyard in each appellation we make wine from,” says Kevin. “We choose the best parts of Sonoma and Napa Valley for our elite Cabernet Sauvignons, Dry Creek for our hedonistically rich Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc, the Russian River and Petaluma Gap for our ethereal Pinot Noirs and lavishly flavored yet sleek Chardonnay.”

It is this passion to be the best and share his wines with the rest of the world that drives Kevin. With his wine team, he spends countless hours in the vineyard and the winery to perfect the flavor of each wine so they reflect the unique terroir and the passionate grower who farms the land. It is this attention to detail that brings out the personality and character of the wines and has garnered so many awards at major competitions around the country.

A new boutique wine facility was created in 2008 to make wines in small lots with uncompromising control. There isn’t always a need for speed. The winery is specifically designed to allow Kevin and his world-class winemaking team to spend time with each lot. Carefully monitoring each barrel, taking the time to make the right decisions, time to fully understand and manage the variables that go into crafting the perfect wines. You take one look at the winery—with its pristine state-of-the-art winemaking equipment and shiny, spotless floors—and you know there is a desire to make the best.

The Adobe Road tasting room is located in the heart of Sonoma Valley on the historic Sonoma Plaza. Visitors can enjoy tastes of current releases, be surprised by a few gems from our Library wines or just sit down and relax with a bottle of Adobe Road in our warm and inviting wine lounge. The tasting room also offers a beautiful patio in which to kick your feet up and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Visitors are often greeted by Michael Scorsone, our winemaker, and are treated by having access to a personal tasting with him.

Adobe Road Winery in Petaluma, which is located in the center of the race shop, offers an exciting and unique experience for corporate events and Inside Track Wine Club member parties. In addition to the new winemaking facility, many of the cars, trophies, photos and posters from Kevin’s racing career are on display. Guests are treated to an up close look at current operations of Kevin’s racing teams. However, the wines are the real prize here. Nowhere else is Adobe Road’s driving passion more deliciously obvious than in the very glass you will be holding in your hand during your visit. Our Family Kevin & Debra Buckler

Kevin Buckler likes to build things. A successful entrepreneur and professional driver, Kevin is the owner and founder of The Racers Group (TRG), TRG-Aston Martin Racing and Adobe Road Winery. As a driver and owner, Kevin’s accomplishments include one overall win and 4 class wins at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, a win at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the title of 2002 Porsche World Cup Champion, as well as wins at most of the major motorsports circuits in North America.

Kevin founded TRG in 1992 and has driven its growth since then, competing at the top levels of motor racing for over 20 years. The team has become the most successful privateer team in professional sports car racing, but also has also competed in the ARCA, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. In 2013, TRG continued its storied tradition by forming TRG-AMR and assuming the reins of the Aston Martin Racing program for North America.

Kevin balances this love of speed with another driving passion—wine. Kevin takes the same painstaking preparation and attention to detail used in his auto racing ventures and applies it to the careful and meticulous crafting of his Adobe Road wines. With his wine team, he spends countless hours in the vineyard and the winery to create elegant, balanced wines with intense fruit and great regional character. He participates in all final winemaking decisions and is frequently seen with a row of sample glasses on his desk.

An active outdoorsman and athlete in multiple sports, a passion to be the best drives Kevin in everything he does, but he enjoys nothing more than spending time with his friends and family, especially his wife Debra and three daughters KT, Alysa and Kelly.

Over the past decade, Kevin has transformed a corner of Petaluma into a state-of-the-art winemaking facility. As you can imagine, the facility has a complete collection of the latest equipment—everything the team needs. That’s Kevin’s philosophy—source the best grapes, hire the right people, and give them everything they need to succeed. Like his race shops, the winery is spotless. It looks more like an operating room than a cellar, because Kevin believes that every little thing matters, even how you clean the floor. Not surprisingly, Adobe Road Winery is collecting medals, awards, and accolades from around the country. The wines are doing very well. Kevin wouldn’t be satisfied with anything else. He doesn’t make the wines just for awards, he makes them because he loves to share great wine with his family and friends.

The Wine Maker Michael Scorsone

Michael Scorsone brings a world of experience to Adobe Road Winery, with a resume that includes work at some of California’s top boutique wineries including Failla, Neyers and Turley. While he is an incredible winemaker, he is so much more than that.

Growing up in a Sicilian family deeply rooted in food and wine, Michael graduated from one of America’s top culinary schools, the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and worked at some of the finest restaurants in Aspen, Colorado – The Little Nell, Caribou Club and Ajax Tavern. He then moved to Las Vegas where he earned a business degree from UNLV while working as a Hotel Operations Supervisor at the MGM Grand. That’s a career for most people, but Michael was just getting started.

Michael followed his heart back to the wine world, studying viticulture at Napa Valley College and working as Cellar Master at Neyers. He also worked a harvest at the Villa Monteleone winery in Valpolicella, Italy, learning many old-world techniques including the production of Amarone. Michael returned to the U.S. as the Assistant Winemaker at Failla, where he not only made the wines, including a Syrah named “Wine of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast, but also single-handedly farmed and managed their estate vineyards.

With the palate of a professional chef, Michael has a keen understanding of the interplay of flavors between food and wine, and this gives him an exceptional insight into the style and character of the wines he makes. His expertise in winemaking, vineyard management and winery operations makes him a key team member at Adobe Road.
