“Someone said drink the water, but I will drink the wine / Someone said take a poor man, the rich don’t have a dime / Go fool yourself, if you will, I just haven’t got the time / I’ll give you back your water, and I will take the wine.”

Frank Sinatra

Water and wine are the only two things that I drink for the most part and hey why do we need water at all wine is 80-85% water!!

Summer is here and that means we are back to our “Happy Hour” style wine tastings.  These tastings start at 6pm and are a casual event, a belly up to the bar or just hang out with your friends.  The food is also casual, this is not a sit-down dinner but a true “Happy Hour” style event…with GREAT wines.

Wednesday, June 14th we have one of the leading ladies from Napa Valley Nikita Touquette on hand to showcase wines from two labels, Fait Main and Teeter Totter.  Both labels showcase some great Napa Valley Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon, two varietals that are easy to sell due to their overwhelming popularity.

This tasting starts at 6pm and chef Toni will be making some tasty treats to accompany the wines.  The fee for this tasting is $150 + tax, for reservations call 954-523-9463 or e-mail andy@winewatch.com

2015 Fait-Main Toyon Vineyards Chardonnay Napa
Price: $115.00 Sale Price: $90.00       Quantity in Stock: 17

(92 points) “ Starting with his white, the medium-gold colored 2015 Chardonnay Penhoet Toyon Farm offers lots of Meyer lemon, crushed rocks, pear, and spice aromas, medium to full-bodied richness, vibrant acidity, and a clean, crisp finish.” (12/2017)  Jeb Dunnuck

2014 Fait-Main 'Sleeping Lady Vineyard' Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

2014 Fait-Main Sleeping Lady Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa
Price: $199.00 Your Price: $175.12   Quantity in Stock: 9

(95 points)  “ Made from several Cabernet Sauvignon Clones, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Sleeping Lady Vineyard is a head turner that has incredible focus and precision, with an almost 2013-like style in its tannin and structure. Offering lots of black and blue fruits, spring flowers, graphite and wet rock aromas and flavors, this beauty is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, with sweet tannin and an unctuous style. Given the prices of most Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons today, this is unquestionably a value. It will be even better with 2-3 years of bottle age and drink well for 15+. “ (7/2017)  Jeb Dunnuck

2015 Fait-Main Sleeping Lady Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa
Price: $199.00 Your Price: $175.12   Quantity in Stock: 1

(96 points) “ The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Bettinelli Sleeping Lady Vineyard is more finesse driven and elegant, with a gorgeous sensuality in its weight and texture. Loaded with notions of red plums, cassis, incense, and dried flowers, this beauty is full-bodied, seamless and super elegant, with fine, fine tannin, and a great finish. It’s just another sensational wine from Benoit Touquette that’s more than worth your time and money. Bravo!” (12/2017)  Jeb Dunnuck

2018 Fait-Main Bettinelli Sleeping Lady Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Price: $277.50 Your Price: $244.20

(94 points) “Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Bettinelli Sleeping Lady Vineyard comes skipping out of the glass with bright notes of kirsch, redcurrant jelly and blackcurrant preserves, giving way to a more serious earthy/savory undercurrent of smoked meats, crushed rocks and wild fungi. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers fantastic freshness to the densely laden red and black fruits, supported by ripe, grainy tannins, finishing long and savory. (LPB) 94+” (11/2021) Wine Advocate

2021 Fait Main, Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard, Napa Valley 6x75cl – Four Corners Wine

2021 Fait-Main Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Price: $300.00 Your Price: $264.00

Located north of the town of Yountville in the Oakville AVA, Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper was originally part of a large piece of land owned by George C. Yount, from whom the town of Yountville takes its name. Purchased by Charles Hopper and given to his daughter Missouri in 1877, the land was planted to wine grapes and, as much of the Napa land was at that time, prunes and walnuts. In 1960, the land was purchased by Bruce Kelham as part of the historic Vine Hill Ranch. Purchased by Beckstoffer Vineyards from the Kelham family in 1996, the vineyard is today planted with multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon. In 2002, the property was placed under a land conservation easement that forever prohibits non-agricultural development.

Fait Main Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 750ml - The Grape Tray

2021 Fait-Main Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Price: $142.50 Your Price: $125.40

“This unapologetically juicy, hedonistic wine celebrates all the corners of the Napa Valley. The nose shows rich strawberry, blackberry and chocolate notes that open up on the palate to a silky ripeness with excellent density. Velvety tannins support the full body and allow the long, fruit-filled finish to bloom.”

Fait Main Todeschini Asteria St. Emilion 2017 750ml - Rye Brook Wine Spirit Shop

2015 Fait Main Todeschini Asteria Vineyards Saint Emilion Grand Cru
Price: $235.00             Your Price: $206.80            Quantity in Stock: 7

WINE WATCH REVIEW:  This 2015 vintage Single Vineyard Saint Emilion is just starting to show the quality of this outstanding vintage.  The nose offers a full array of dark cherry plum and currant berry fruit with cedar, fresh earth and cigar box spice, very complex bouquet.  A plush and velvety wine on the tongue with layers of fruit, earth and spice with a long layered finish and a firm hand of acidity holding things in place.  Beautiful after a few hours in a decanter but really needs another 5-10 years in the cellar.  Finish 50+  TASTING DATE 9/12/22

Teeter-Totter Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 - Fame Cigar & Wine Lounge

The vintage is powerful, well-balanced, and carries beautiful aromatics. Fresh raspberries, blackcurrants, floral notes and spice get swaddled in ripe, polished tannins for some rich and full-bodied satisfaction. Balanced acid gives it incredible length and a killer finish. The perfect plus one for any occasion. This is a phenomenal vintage, don’t wait - open it up...now!

2014 Teeter Totter Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
Price: $71.00   Your Price: $62.48     Quantity in Stock: 3

(92 points) “ Another terrific wine from Frenchman Benoit Touquette, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is a smoking value in Napa Valley Cabernet that drinks well above its humble (by Napa Standards) price point. It’s soft, forward and luscious, yet has plenty of mid-palate depth, a rounded, sexy texture, no hard edges and sweet tannin. This is a beautiful Cabernet to drink anytime over the coming decade. “ (7/2017)  Jeb Dunnuck

Fait-Main Wines - faitmain

A bit about Fait Main:

“ Fait-Main is the smallest and most intimate of all my wine projects – a true family-run operation. I don’t have a platoon of assistant winemakers. We don’t have sales reps or third-party distributors. The hands that make Fait-Main really are ours.”  Benoit Touquette

“I grew up in Lyon thinking I would become a fighter pilot or an engineer. I never considered wine until I was in Bordeaux working mobile bottling lines to pay for graduate school. The infectious passion of the winemakers I met, showing up day after day with the same fire in their eyes, blew me away. I switched my focus to oenology and completed two degrees, then left France to intern with Andy Erickson and explore uncharted possibilities in Napa Valley. I worked hard, learned from everyone, and pushed myself to deliver the kind of winemaking I believe in. I’ve never missed a picking day, and I’ll spend as much time as it takes to get the wines right. I started Fait-Main because I fell in love with a vineyard… and then another, and another. Shauna saves me from myself.

Nikita and I are thrilled to introduce a new Napa Valley vintage this spring, as well as a brand new bottling from Fait-Main. If you enjoyed Napa Valley’s 2019 vintage, you will be very pleased with 2021.  These wines are exceptionally fresh and structured, with graceful aromatics and more red and blue fruit. Perfect successor of 2019, our wines already shine with elegance and refinement and will continue to impress for many years to come.

The 2021 Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Cabernet Sauvignon has such a beautiful frame and soft, silky roundness. A bit of graphite and pretty floral notes complement the fresh red, blue and purple fruits. This is a wonderful expression of the Missouri Hopper site, and an intensely sexy wine by any measure.

Our second offering is a first for Fait-Main, and something I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time. The 2021 Fait-Main Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is our brand’s first blend – assembled with fruit from all our single-vineyard sources, a few additional vineyards you are already familiar with, plus some exciting up-and-coming sites we hope will become single-vineyard expressions in time.

This new wine is my snapshot of Napa Valley – capturing my personal view of the 2021 vintage in our appellation, from valley floor to hillside heights. It delivers a delicious and approachable value proposition I couldn’t be prouder to offer.

Then, there is a collaboration with a friend from Saint Emilion.

Almost as soon as I met Lionel Kreff, I knew that we should make wine together. It took some time for the pieces to fall into place, but our collaboration finally became reality the same year Lionel’s son—my godson—was born. Together, we would make a St. Emilion Grand Cru from the Asteria Vineyards in St. Étienne de Lisse.

This vineyard site has been growing grapes for more than 500 years. The Todeschini family owns and farms the estate today with sustainable methods that reject synthetic materials, insecticides and herbicides. Our vines are planted on top of a unique plateau in the middle of the historic property. The soils there are incredible… asteria limestone layered on top of molasse rock, with oceans of ancient marine animal fossils trapped in the earth. The diversity of calcareous soil gives the fruit richness and density, with fine minerality at the core.

With power, precision, elegance and complexity, this is a modern wine born of ancient lands… and a testament to friendship and trust.”
