“I love everything that is old; old friends, old times, old manners, old books, old wines. “

- Oliver Goldsmith, The Vicar of Wakefield

We love vintage wines and have some incredible tastings featuring wines going back 100+ years of age.  I tend to like wines that still have a good amount of fruit left and although you can keep Bordeaux for a long time in some cases 50-100 years I tend to like them from 20-40 years of age.  For my taste that is when great Bordeaux from great vintages really starts to hit its peak years of drinkability.

Looking around the store I found that we had a bottle of 1937 vintage Chateau Margaux, so I figured it’s time to do a little experiment to see just how this vintage is drinking and of course we have thrown in a few other vintages to see how they compare with some of the oldest Bordeaux that we have in store along with some wines from the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s that I would consider are drinking at their peak right now.

For those of you that can’t make the tasting I have included all the Bordeaux from these producers that we have in the store on this offering on SALE!

The fee for this tasting which includes dinner is $895 + tax, for reservations call 954-523-9463 or e-mail andy@winewatch.com.
