I thank god for my children every day. Without them I’d never know how well red wine complements chicken nuggets.

White wine does not seem to get the same attention from collectors as red. We are guilty of giving red more attention than white as ¾ of our inventory at Wine Watch is the color red.

Recognition of the problem is half of the battle and we will give the great white Burgundies and California Chardonnays their due beginning tonight!  We will add this California Chardonnay versus white  Burgundy tasting to our annual line-up of wine tasting events. This is all a part of the valuable scientific wine research that we are doing here at the Wine Watch, we need to know if the great whites of California can stand up to the top wines of Burgundy.  The Paris tasting in 1976 proved that this is a reality as the California whites and reds took top honors over 40 years ago and blind tasting became a more routine thing.

Tonight we will taste these 5 California Chardonnays and these 5 top level white Burgundies blind to determine if 40+ years later the results are the same and of course we will have a few ringers to throw into the mix as the make great Chardonnay all over the world today.

For those of you that can’t make it I have included all the white Burgundy and the California Chardonnay from the producers that are in this tasting so you can host your own tasting sheltering in place wherever you are.

The fee for this tasting which includes dinner is $195 + tax, for reservations call 954-523-9463 or e-mail andy@winewatch.com

Private Dinner in the Wine Cavae

Any night we have a wine event at the Wine Bar we will also take up to 15 people but will accept as few as 6 for a curated private dinner by Chef Toni in the Wine Cave.  We must know in advance what food items you want so you will have to coordinate the menu with Toni ahead of time but she can put together any of your favorites from past Wine Bar menus or whatever you want if she has enough notice. The best thing about this table is the view of the wine, we have the largest selection of vintage wine in South Florida and everything is available at a retail price!!  You may want to bring a sweater it is 64 degrees in the wine cave.
