The Wines of Bordeaux give tone to the stomach, while leaving the mouth fresh and the head clear.  More than one invalid abandoned by the doctors has been seen to drink the good old wine of Bordeaux and return to health.

--Comments by members of the Jury judging Bordeaux wines submitted under the new 1855 classification at the 1855 World's Fair in Paris, as noted in 1855: A History of the Bordeaux Classification

I like the idea of toning the stomach by drinking Bordeaux!  And if you want to do the ultimate tune up for your wine abs we have a line-up of Bordeaux that will make your belly shake.  This is one of our "Once in a lifetime" tasting events tonight we are showing some of the oldest wines we have ever had on the table from Bordeaux back to the 1919 vintage!  We also have legendary vintages like 1959, 1961, 1975, 1982, 1989 and more…

This tasting includes the most expensive wine in Bordeaux Chateau Petrus 1975 and we have their neighbor Chateau Trotany from the same vintage these two wines side by side is worth the price of admission by themselves but with two vintages of Chateau Latour and the Montrose 1959 how can we pay for these wines at a meager $295 + tax!!

We will never recover our $$ for the wines at this tasting with only 16 tasters but… we are doing serious scientific fine wine research here at the Wine Watch. The only reason we are opening up these bottles is to see how they are drinking today!

Toni Lampasone will be making a special menu to accompany the tasting wines and the fee for this dinner is only $295 + tax per person, for reservations call 954-523-9463 or e-mail andy@winewatch.com

Just in case you are busy this evening we have included all the old Bordeaux we have in the store so you can conduct a legendary vintage Bordeaux tasting on your own.  You can also check out everything we have in stock from Bordeaux on our web page www.winewatch.com for live real-time inventory 24/7.  Because Wine Watch never sleeps!!

1919 Chateau Duhart Milon Pauillac

1942 Chateau Pontet Canet Pauillac

1955 Chateau Latour Pauillac

1959 Chateau Montrose St. Estephe
Price: $895.00    Your Price: $787.60
Quantity in Stock: 2

(96 Points)  The 1959 is a surprising clone of the 1961, with sweeter fruit, a more rustic, tannic personality, and the same enormous weight, richness, and distinctively old style found in both the 1959 and 1961. The 1959 is just reaching full maturity; it will last another 20-30 years! Wine Advocate

1961 Chateau Belair Saine Emilion

1975 Chateau Petrus Pomerol

1975 Chateau Trotanoy Pomerol

1980 Chateau Latour Pauillac

1982 Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou St. Julien
Price: $420.00    Your Price: $336.00
Quantity in Stock: 7

(96 Points) At a charity dinner in Charleston, SC, the 1982 Ducru Beaucaillou from my cellar was the only corked bottle out of twenty-two. A subsequent tasting revealed one of the all-time great Ducrus, probably matched or eclipsed by several recent vintages (i.e., 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2008). The 1982 is still 5-8 years away from full maturity, but it exhibits a dense ruby/plum/garnet color to the rim as well as a sweet perfume of forest floor, spice box, cedar, and copious quantities of black fruits. Medium to full-bodied and beautifully pure with sweet tannins, this wine has aged more slowly than I initially expected. It is the finest Ducru Beaucaillou produced after the 1961 and before the 2003. With respect to the 1990, I do not own any of this wine, but it was the last of a series of vintages between 1986 and 1990 that were affected by the TCA-like contamination in the estate’s chai, which was completely destroyed and then rebuilt, eliminating the source of these smells. Not every bottle is affected by this, but I do not have any source for this vintage. Release price: ($140.00/case) Wine Advocate # 183, Jun 2009

1989 Chateau Pape Clement Pessac Leognan (OWC)
