We like sweet words but we like wine better and this year we are studying wines that are 10, 20, and 50 years of age.  We just finished our 10 year and 50 year studies in January so now it’s on to 20 in February.  Join us as we pop some bottles of 2001 vintage wines from around the world to see how these 20 year old wines are drinking today.    

This is true scientific research that we are doing here at the Wine Watch, checking each bottle to see when the best time to consume for the most drinking pleasure.  It's hard work but we are willing to sacrifice our body for our wine drinking people.  These wines are all from the outstanding 2001 vintage from around the world and they are now at 20 years of age which is what many would consider to be fully mature. 

The 2001 vintage was outstanding in many places on Earth for wine, but I remember being most excited about the wines of Germany and the sweet wines of Bordeaux- Sauternes.  After a huge 2000 Bordeaux futures campaign there was no way we were going to sell a bunch of 2001 vintage wines but when the press came out on the 2001 Sauternes and there was a once in a lifetime feeding frenzy of sweet wine fans buying big. 

We have a few things in the store from 2001 but right now but I highly recommend the sweet wines on this offering they are by far the best values in the world of collectible wines.  For those of you that can’t make this tasting we have quite a few German wines and Sauternes on this offering, so check out the 2001’s they are now in their glory years but will drink nicely for many more decades if you like vintage wines.
